So, you ejected primary tape pool tapes from the library to make space. How do you know which tapes you can eject? (The reclaimation process uses those tapes.) What are the steps?

Time for disks? Ummmmmmm....................Buy more tapes ? We ran for a long, long time with over 400 tapes assigned to a 3583-L72. Yes, it is an administration headache, but it works (and is much cheaper than buying a disk farm). But, if you have the money for a disk farm, go for it. Really depends upon your needs Orin Rehorst <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent by: "ADSM: Dist Stor Manager" <[email protected]> 10/16/2006 11:01 AM Please respond to "ADSM: Dist Stor Manager" <[email protected]> To [email protected] cc Subject [ADSM-L] Library out of space. Time for disks? Our IBM 3583 tape lib is out of space. What do you think of this idea? Acquire disk-based appliance i.e. 3 TB. Use it for primary. Use 3583 for off site tapes only. Please advise.
