I've been using TSM for VE with Windows guests.
Just started at a customer where there are also Linux guests.

Could someone please direct me to some doc describing the VE support for Linux
guests?
This doc:
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21611903#Linux%20x86_64%20Platform%20RecoveryAge
lists the Linux versions supported for the plug-in, the recovery agent, and
data mover, but no info on what the support is for Linux guest machines.

What happens when you have a guest with a variant of Linux that is not in the
list of versions supported for the plug-in, recovery agent, or data mover?

For example, I have one VM now (it reports as Solaris 10, although it really
isn't) that appears to be backing up happily with just a warning: ANS9386W
Changed block tracking is not supported for virtual machine blah
OK, fine, I can live without the CBT. And I have another customer with some
Novell Linux.

SO what do I expect from such a VM if I want to restore it?
Can I do a full VM restore?
Can I install a recovery agent on a supported OS and do a file-level restore?
Somebody have a link they can share?

Thanks

I'd like to know before I count on those backups for anything....
