for every OS that runs on VMware, you can always do a full restore, really. For 
any Linux VM you can do a file level restore, no matter what the OS flavor is. 

As for file-level restores of Solaris, maybe you can, maybe you can't. Linux is 
quite versatile when it comes down to both partition layout scenes and file 
system support, you may just have to do a lot more manually. In the end all the 
agent does is create an iSCSI target….
