I'm new, only about two weeks, to Android Apps and I have been wondering how any apps get developed using the ADT with genymotion. All worked well for about 20 minutes, then the development environment started doing really crazy things like in the photo. The code window jump to over lay the directory/project window and now I can only view one at a time. I've completely deleted everything, development environment, .Android "cache / config directory" and the project working directory, rebooted the computer multiple times and reinstalled multiple time. When I re-install at first it looks correct with the code window in the center but when I click on it, it jumps over to cover the project window.
The next thing was completing the MyFirstApp tutorial, after doing so, I found I could not create any new projects. If I tried the scr directory would be empty, I eventually found a solution to this one but I've spent 1 day learning android development and 8 days trying to fix the development environment. The next thing was was now the internal AVD will not launch or create instances of the virtual device and for some reason APPCOMPAT_7V is automatically loaded and I can't get rid of it. I'm quite certain I'll draw a lot of criticism but I'm a hardware engineer with lots of software experience in C, assembly, php, mysql, html, visual basic, javascript and a little Java with netbeans. I have never run across such a hostile work environment as the android ADT. So I know how to develop software for users as well as embedded systems. I'm so highly irritated with this ADT bundle that I'm am at the give up point, Oh did I also mention that all of this has occurred on multiple computers, XP, 7 Pro, 8 and 8.1. Is there a stable development platform for Android out there other than ADT that would be an "EASY TOOL" to use to actually learn java and android development, sorry after a week and half of fighting this thing I'm ready to move on. <https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-Gn6Hk4lcg1A/Uyh5UFU97aI/AAAAAAAAAFw/hrnjKIEPvM0/s1600/eclipse+android+Layout+Screwed+up3.png> -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "adt-dev" group.
