We will all conclude the same truth, but through many different journeys of illusions. Alcohol is just another breed of illusions. Like possessions, money or cocaine. They numb the five simple senses and open your imagination. Meditation can do much the same. But they are all methods of running away from the now. Only in the now can we truly exist and have any chance of truly uncovering the fullness of self. .
