It is my opinion that in the search for self-knowledge there should be
a thorough investigation of one's own mind. Not in the contents, such
as thoughts/beliefs or conceptual knowledge, but in the structure and
essence of the mind itself. I have been working on this for some time
now and would like to share my findings. The mind seems to be made of
a ray, or beam of awareness, and nothing else. The mind seems to be
where this ray (of self) can and is manipulated into various forms and
sensations. It seems that most individuals spend their whole life
manipulating this ray of (self)awareness (a busy mind), and never take
the time to stop and see exactly what they're manipulating (a little
self observation). If the ray of attention is squeezed, pinched or
blocked off, the mind/self feels anxiety or tension, also there is
tendency to identify one's self with this particular sensation and
it's location, this is what's sometimes referred to as "hanging on".
If one just pays close attention to this manipulating, one can
discover how to be neutral so to speak, how to let the ray of
awareness be untouched, to open up and expand, and to let river of
(self) awareness flow freely. It is in this flowing sensation that
bliss, love, joy, shakti vibration, fullness, mind expansion, and
extra ordinary powers of awareness are experienced. I have yet to see
clearly exactly where and how this ray enters the body/mind, and
experience it's source directly.
