Thanks Mark, always a pleasure. It is in fact a very old concept. Humans long before us felt and realised this human dichotomy. If we where purely logical and rational, this conversation could never happen. Logic and reason can only dwell on that which clearly is. There is no tangible evidence for love, beauty, passion, revelation, God or fear. Logic and reason has no knowledge of these things. Conversely love, beauty, passion, revelation, God or fear have no direct correlation with logic and reason. This apparent duality of order and chaos. Latin : Ordo ab Chao Ordo ab Chao, which means Order from Chaos. This ancient Latin phrase implies that to create order you must first create chaos. This is meant to be more of a 'from crazyness we made order' type thing. So alternatively, you could phrase it, "Out of Chaos, Order".and of course. From order, there will be chaos. The real mistake is to attempt to resolve this mysterious apparent dilemma. Whereas the rest of this universe just gets on with it. The question it's self is the only dilemma. An egotistical intelligence which demands an logical answer when there is none. Know this : nothing can prove, or disprove 2+2=4 everywhere in the universe at the same time. Well obviously :-) Knowing is the everything, not knowing is nothing so it cannot be known. That is not a negation of terms either - it is just that knowing of "all that is not" cannot happen The gift is to know this truth and simply dance with the mystery. It's a fool's errant to demand cognitive, logic and reason about a subject like the conscious awareness beyond human ego. We know enough to say that humans are, on the one hand bound by the limitations of logic and reason and yet, psychologically and emotionally very aware of love, elation, revelation and fear. But love, eleation, revelation and fear are conceptually driven interpretations of simple sensations, born out of the mind. My take on this is simple. As human sentient beings we are the dichotomy of rational and irrational conscious awareness. This balance leads us to perceive duality. Each day we arrive in a condition of rational and irrational conscious awareness. And it is only through this condition that we examine and struggle to understand our arrival. My sincere belief is. We manifest each morning to progress our ability to be. Happiness, enlightenment, revelation and the sartorial elegance of our Universal Unity are all by products of our ability to be. The ego, self and oxygen are only elemental ingredients in a process of progress. We have no right to demand logic and reason, we have no right to demand understanding. We are here and now.
