> > Your Self can't be fooled. But the mind can.
Well the mind can be fooled into thinking there is a Self if you make meanings out of what a guru says... > Especially when left to its own devices. Or even guided by a teacher who thinks THEY are enlightened and tries to teach YOU how to be enlightened. > That is where a living teacher is required. Otherwise the mind will imagine > so many things and take them to be true. If the teacher is coming from NO MIND then perhaps, but a teacher coming from a place of being SOMEONE who is teaching YOU how to be enlightened won't really help. > Only one with correct understanding can give correct understanding. The > mind does not have the capaacity to go beyond itself without proper > guidance. > Of course it does. What the mind seeks is the simplest thing in the world to find when it stops looking for it. It is always available, here, now, totally available. YOU don't need to DO anything. Because there is NOTHING to get. When you give up that YOU are not enlightened then there is only what is happening. When there is only what is happening, enlightenment can be one of the things that is happening. It doesn't happen to anyone. It's just THIS!
