This has nothing to do with it. It is Perfectly possible to install VS.NET
2002 directly on Windows Server 2003 as I and many others have done, as long
as you know how to install it. AFAIR, the usual error messages at startup
have to do with prerequisite installation, and there are ways to get around
that.
