If you haven't read Ingo Rammer's book on remoting by all means you'll want
to get it.

What we found in our stress testing was that for a SAO object the
implementor only sees a single thread.  The remoting framework handles the
connection/socket threads.  Try as we might we could not swamp the server
with the remoted object; it got slower and slower but never refused a
connection or appeared to not exist.

I had a P400 server with an SAO being hit by 2 1.2 Ghz Machines with 20
clients running on each one with a gigabit SMC switch.
