You had beta2 installed on that system before the final ? If so, did you clean 
up every beta2 element as discussed on the internet
in various how-to's?

At the moment I have 3 VS.NET 2005 instances open (C#) all with large C# 
solutions and that for several hours now, and they all
consume below 150MB memory
