Mine is the same as this also. I would like the remarks tab to
automatically be there also. Try the /// [Enter] at the class level and at
a property level (that has either a get or a get and set) and you will see
what I mean.

Using Visual Studio 2005, C#

My method's signature is this:

private int GetExplorerImageIndex(string groupKey)

When I typed ///[Enter] about it, the following was generated:

/// <summary>
///
/// </summary>
/// <param name="groupKey"></param>
/// <returns></returns>

One thing I don't understand about the XML commenting is in C# when you type
the /// you get only the summary tag. In VB when you type the ''' you get
the summary, value, returns and remarks tag. Why is there a difference?

There has got to be a way to override the defaults for the /// instead of
writing snippets.

Any other ideas here?

That is what I figured but I didn't want to miss something else. We've
already discovered the snippets and wrote some new ones. They are pretty
cool.

Thanks for the advice.

If it is 2005, you can use code snippets.

Subject: [ADVANCED-DOTNET] C# XML Commenting

I've got a question about comment our C# code.

Is there a way to override the default options for commenting? On methods
when you type the /// you get the following:

/// <summary>

///

///</summary>

We would like for it to be:

/// <summary>

///

///</summary>

///<remarks></remarks>

We've added the remarks section automatically.

Has anyone ever done anything like this or have an idea of a work around to
make it happen?

Thanks.
