I've done both -- using VS + SVN without integration and using VS + SVN with
integration (AnkhSVN) -- and I prefer it with integration.  I'm less likely
to forget to add new files to the repository when I see them right there in
the IDE without the proper icon.

There is a slight perf hit, but I only notice it when the solution first
loads and refreshes it's status with the respository.  Haven't really
noticed a perf hit while using it (unless I add a new page/class and a
repository refresh is done).

Am I the only one who prefer to just use TortoiseSVN and no Visual Studio
integration? My past experiences suggest that every Visual Studio SCC
integration out there causes performance issues within the IDE itself...
