I presume there is a folder called 'Projects' under Delphi 7?...:-)

I am guessing this is a security problem. Somehow the security you used
to install the program has changed and now you don't have rights to the
directory. This is a common problem when you try to install things in
Vista or even XP if you are not careful.

Subject: [advanced_delphi] Error after installing Delphi 7 Enterprise on
Wine Ubuntu 10.10 LTS

G'day from Hobart,

see subject. I installed Delphi 7 Enterprise with no updates on my
desktop running Ubuntu 10.10 LTS in Wine. Ubuntu has all the latest
update since yesterday, but there is an error preventing me from getting
further updates.

I backed up the HDD today (7 hours) to an external HDD.

I plan to use Lazarus in WINE and Ubuntu for X-platform Game development
but need to have Delphi 5 ent and Delphi 7 ent installed in Wine for
reference.

D5 Ent install pretty well and I had service pack 2. But D7 Ent has a
few AV's which I ignored (no service pack). I think that there were some
missing DLL's. I was emulating Win XP cos that's the environment I am
targeting.

Error

Could not launch 'Delphi 7'

Failed to change to directory
'/home/peterthepoet/.wine/dosdevices/c:/Program
Files/Borland/Delphi7/Projects' (No such file or directory)

[Close]

Regards,
    Peter W.
