Thanks to Steven Lembark for the suggestion of "Cooperative", a word with
nice legal ramifications that does not invoke the Borg, Communism, or
Orwell's 1984.
Since the Perl-jobs list is not yet on line, and this is probably not (yet)
and advocacy topic (Nat?Offtopic?)... I would appreciate if anyone with an
interest in the possibility of discussing (with an eye to forming) such a
cooperative network please contact me offlist and we can continue the
discussion.
As I said, I've been giving some thought to posing this sort of discussion at
a meeting of the San Francisco and Silicon Valley Perl Users groups.
I'd love to flesh it out a little among like-minded folks.
It's not a user-group and I really don't _think_ it belongs under Perl Mongers
I don't know how much energy I can personally spare - aside from my personal
job search (leave salaried position, find contract, begin new gig) we have
recently (after a very difficult 6-month battle with cancer) lost a very
close and much beloved member of our immediate household. My interest is high
but my energy levels are lower than they have been in 6 years and I make no
guarantees about my stability at this time :(.
Nevertheless, I think I can handle email...
