Though I understand the lists are slow, perhaps if more people know about
them and post there it might be more helpful.
Since most jobs are found by who you know rather than a blind resume to an
ad, I highly recommend a local Perl Mongers group. There is almost always
somebody looking to fill a position of some sort at these gatherings.
http://houston.pm.org/ or http://dfw.pm.org/ DFW is a pretty active group
as I recall, I don't know about houston.
Being something of a 'jack of all trades' is also a good thing since it
will leave you open to a lot more types of positions you might not have
considered otherwise. Also, when considering the 'rightsizing of the
revolution', diversifying your skillset is a good survival technique.
