You probably won't ever hear one as CPAN is an Archive, nothing more,
nothing less. If someone decides to add extra value to that via module
reviews, bundles of QCed modules, etc. that might be good for a sales
pitch but it won't be CPAN anymore. The C is for comprehensive, the A for
archive.
And, after spending the last few days upgrading a mod_perl application
from perl 5.005_03 to perl 5.6.1 and coming up with what appears to be a
bug in sysopen/open in mod_perl, I can't imagine why anyone with a
solidly working code base would ever want to upgrade their perl versions.
Ever. Perl6 will have to work better than that to encourage the battle
scarred to give it a whirl all over again.
CPAN sells itself, worry about perl :)
