Perhaps so, but there is a virtue in trying to appeal to that minority as
well.

The fact is, O'Reilly does have a house style, and even though different
book series approach things in different ways, there's still a certain
"feel" that they all have in common. And while that may appeal to many
people, there are also a lot of people (arguable, a lot *more* people)
that would rather learn from, say, a _Perl in 24 Hours_, _PERL for
Dummies_, or _Perl Visual Quickstart Guide_ format instead.

I don't think there's anything wrong with that kind of diversity.


That said, I'm not about to get involved in a debate about the merits or
otherwise of learn.perl.org. I remember the last time this thread came up,
and I don't have that many dozens of hours to spend on it this time :)
