Hi. I'm not sure this is the proper group to post my dilemma in but I will try.
I began a new campaign with (1) ad group, for a client who sells high- end kitchen cabinetry, (2) months ago. I used broad match only, with an extensive list of negative keywords to weed out irrelevant hits. The campaign was smoking hot! Tons of traffic, tons of conversions... on a very small budget. Another Adwords Person looked at the campaign approximately (10) day ago and was aghast. The individual had me split the campaign into ad groups, even though the client sells one product, high-end kitchens; then the individual had me make every keyword exact match. Within 8 hours the campaign came a complete halt: no impressions, no click-throughs... nothing. I changed all of the keywords back to broad yesterday as a "control". It hasn't been (24) hours yet, but there is some slight improvement. Does anyone know why the exact match type would affect the camapign like that? No traffic. I find it difficult to believe that the broad match hits were all garbage with a very decent conversion rate. I could be wrong.
