Yes, you are correct that the Performance Max campaign is a type not a subtype. For your statement below: My question for you now is that the Smart Shopping Campaign does no longer exist, then why do I still find it on the UI ? This seems to be why you are seeing on Ads UI. As per this API documentation, Smart Shopping campaigns are being upgraded to Performance Max campaigns. That being said, you may consider creating Performance Max instead of the Shopping type.
