Ideally, by following the steps in the getting started guide here <https://github.com/googleads/googleads-python-lib#getting-started>, you should be able to get the library work without any issues. From your description, I am suspecting there could be some version mismatches resulting in the syntax issues. As you said, if you face any further issues, let us know.
