I am from the Google Ads API team. We have legacy AdWords API which is SOAP API 
and new Google Ads API Beta which is REST API. Both have separate client 
libraries, here is libraries for AdWords API and here is the libraries for 
Google Ads API. You can use the same credentials to make API calls to the 
accounts using both the API's simultaneously.

Documentation related to both API's can be found in the links specified above. 
For now we recommend using AdWords API for production usage and also welcome to 
tryout Google Ads API Beta for tests. To start with the AdWords API you can 
follow this guide. Please let me know if you have any specific questions.
