Yes, well, as I've often said, in these matters I can't
prove I'm right any more than anyone can prove I'm wrong.

But I so often hear it said these days - even by
aestheticans - that jazz is good music - as if this were a
statement of the obvious which everyone would agree to, that
I feel a kind of duty to state what I myself believe to be
the case: jazz is a seriously impoverished musical form -
only one slight step above pop and rock music.
