The upper-case BUT is mine, to emphasize you evidently see a difference. 
Please articulate why you feel the WORDS do the "meaning" as distinguished from 
just our minds, contemplating them, and making associations with the familiar 
sound/scription.   Please take into account my repeated asserted that words are 
inert, they don't act, any more than a rock does.
