This is an interesting line for the way it indicates what different notions
people can have in mind with the same word. Generally, "material" is taken to be contrasted with "notional" (or in some circles "spiritual"). On the other hand, a physicalist might claim that this is exactly what he believes -- i.e.
that feelings, ideas, mental images etc   are solely neural flesh. And that
those who claim that "consciousness" or "notions" are a different, non-material, non-spatial kind of entity are seriously mistaken. In sum, they believe in
the materiality of consciousness.
