Re your comment on the appeal to authority:  Yes, of course, but not all risks 
are equal.  It is one thing for me to dispute a judgment in a topic of which I 
know little and quite another for me to dispute a judgment in a topic I know 
deeply. Some authorities are very wrong. Some are better than others.  Some are 
way better.  Some are nearly unassailable.  None is infallable.  Hauser ranks 
well above the bottom.
