Which is to say -- that it's the feeling -- not the awareness of

that is attractive to me.
I wouldn't call art works 'symbols' because the feeling that I'm
getting is
always a little different each I experience them -- and often way, way
different from how others experience them. (a good recent example
-- being
those internet photographs that I recently showed. Boris said they
were
sentimental -- but as it turned out -- they provoked sentimental
feelings in
neither one of us)
And -- which also serves as an example for why I wish to banish the
phrase "WE
like to experience" from the serious discussion of aesthetics.
You -- William Conger-- like to become aware of symbolized feelings
-- and so
you like to read books of theory that examine relevant issues.
