Did anyone with television sets catch the PBS special on Jerome Robbins last
night ?

A fascinating story, involving ideas like "creativity", "genius", and
"low-art" (broadway musical) versus "high art" (ballet) and how Jerome
Rabinowitz carried his storytelling genius from the one into the other.

Most revealing, for me, was the story about the movie version of "West Side
Story" -- where Robbins was fired before the school dance had been filmed --
and how I could feel the energy draining from the scene - like air escaping
from a punctured balloon.
