I also found the Robbins special interesting in numerous ways. In particular,
a fumbler like me was encouraged to see how long it took Robbins to get
something "right". A friend who was watching it with me said it brought to mind
Michelangelo working on the Sistine Chapel ceiling. He evidently kept
changing
it, and kept changing it, exasperating everyone around him, and damaging
himself in the process, until one morning he came in and, to his horror, found
the
scaffolding was gone. The Pope had ordered it taken down.

We have on our walls several paintings by a minor artist named Savo
Radulovic. To his friends, Savo was famous as someone who needed an observer of
good
sensibility who could, at the right time, just pull the painting away him.
The
friends had too often seen Savo bring a painting to a peak -- and fail to
stop there.
