I don't think subject matter has to be profound. If it is treated from the
profoundly original, enlightening  point/ angle/concept, it will do it.

we've inherited from the late 19th Century.

What does  "profoundly original" mean that beyond just "very, very different"
?

And what does  "enlightening"  mean that's beyond just "additional
information"?

Can these phrases remain important without some notion of profundity?
