You're slicing the same pie into more or less equal units. And we still don't know the flavor of the pie. Content is still undefined when you say it is the "meaning, message, or sense". Each of those words has variable definitions and they are also telescoped into one another. Meaning = message =sense. Or sense =message = meaning. Or in any other sequence.
This issue regarding content one of the classic problems in aesthetics. On tradition refers content to the object (significant form); and one tradition refers content to experience (Dewey, and others). The former is Analytic; the latter is Continental.
