Who said I am old? :)
To satisfy your curiosity. Learning, teaching and creating art is my
expertise, supported by background in the science of life - biology.
Being exposed to art people on many levels makes it possible for me to
evaluate types of tastes and competence of others with consistent level of
accuracy.
Lets separate preservation/recording of an image in a portrait and a fine
art.

What is "clear disagreement", here, Lew?

But anyway, here's two reasons I'd like to know how Boris will answer:

First -- I am curious about how anyone - but especially an old Russian
artist
- reacts to sculpture I like.

Second -- I wonder how Boris will develop his notion of "power of symbolic
imagination".

What kinds of non-symbolic imagination are there?

And if one thing has greater "power of symbolic imagination" than another,
does that mean that it :

provokes a stronger emotional response? -- or --- offers a more useful
concept?

Can that power be gauged without reading any of the critical literature
about
the piece?

Can it be gauged without looking at the piece ones self?

(and probably a bunch of other questions that would occur to me if I weren't
so tired )

>So, since you clearly disagree with Boris and you have already reached your
own
conclusions I don't really see the point of your questions. I don't see how
Boris' responses can be of use to you
