There does seem to be "an undue adherence to the myth of readership" defying an intersection with reality. Frances suggested defining what might be meant by myth. This is probably an impossible task-could we perhaps isolate some of the myths particularly pertinent art and aesthetics and consider them? KAte Sullivan
