DIVERSITIES IN AESTHETICS.
The Eighteenth International Congress of Aesthetics.
From 09-13 August 2010 in Beijing, China.
Deadline for submission of abstracts is 30 April 30 2010.
The Eighteenth International Congress of Aesthetics (ICA) is
the largest conference on aesthetics in the world and represents
the highest level of scholarship in this discipline. For a period
as long as approximately one century, the International
Association of Aesthetics has held seventeen congresses in
Europe, Asia, and North and South America, including three recent
congresses in Tokyo, Rio, and Ankara since the beginning of the
21st century. The theme of the Beijing Congress will be
"Diversities in Aesthetics" and to be held from August 9th to
13th, 2010 in Beijing.
On behalf of the Program Committee for the XVIII
International Congress of Aesthetics, we are pleased to invite
you to attend the convention and please submit the abstract of

01. The global and the local: Western and non-Western aesthetics.
02. The definition of art and the analysis of concepts of art.
03. Conflicts and interactions between cultural studies and
aesthetics.
04. The relationship between aesthetics and philosophy, ethics,
psychology, or anthropology, etc.
05. The relationship between aesthetics and forms of art, such as
music, painting, sculpture, architecture, calligraphy, movie, and
design, etc.
06. The relationship between aesthetics and
nature/environment/ecology.
07. The relationship between aesthetics and economy, society, and
politics.
08. Aesthetics and aesthetic education.
09. Aesthetics: historical traditions and modernization.
10. Aesthetics: information technology and the cyber-space.
Please Note:
(1) Abstracts should be 200-300 words. Please mark on your
abstract under which topic you wish it to be listed. Please use
double space in Times New Roman 12pt.
(2) You can come to the congress without submitting an abstract
or reading your paper at the congress, but you have to fill in a
registration form or register on the website. If you need an
official letter invitation, please make it clear when you fill in
the registration form.
(3) Suggested time for presentation is 30 minutes, including 10
minutes for discussion.
