Berg, give up on these silly quotations. They don''t apply and merely
embarrass
you. No art, vulgar or nto, has a universal "any and every one" audience.
That's rthe whole problem, isn't it? With respect to subjectivity universal
definitions don't work because there is no universal state of mind.

Subject: Once upon a time, wasn't art supposed to restrain vulgarity?

- It may be argued that, if the *less vulgar* is the higher, and the *less
vulgar* is always that which addresses the better public, an art addressing
any and every one is of a very vulgar order.
