Lew --You're right that there's a dilemma here. I've posted some long pieces
from time to time, and though I might claim I haven't wandered off the point,
I sensed there were listers that wandered off my lengthy posting, and I can't
say I blame them.

On the other hand, when I've posted an argument that took as premises
"component thoughts" I'd posted earlier, to my total and affronted
astonishment listers had not memorized every word I'd said in the past year --
so my argument came across as evangelistic babble.

The trick is evidently find some serviceable middle ground. I'll work on it.
