I was going to abide by lent. As it was dumbed down to my by a doctor. Opiates target a specific receptor in the brain that when engaged causes dopamine to release. Or its a dopamine receptor that the opiate targets, don't recall which. It's literally the same thing as a runners high, and post coitus bliss. The first time you do opiates, more so with heroin, the opiate receptor gets "stretched" the opiate molecule is slightly larger than the actual molecule. This alters the receptor. That's why heroin is called chasing the dragon. This first time is the only time it's "stretched" you literally can never achieve that same high, so trying to do so is like chasing a dragon, it will never happen. Nalaxone (narcan) plugs up this receptor, so the opiate just half life's out and is discharged. If you're on narcan, you can't experience a runners high, though I doubt many people run a marathon right after an OD. THC does none of the above
