Wow. I was way off. Not sure what I was thinking about but you're right,
10% not 80%. Makes a hell of a lot more sense.
I have had to go back and replace anchors on a number of old Rohn G series
towers that had large pipe stanchion type anchors. Some were due to pipe
bending, some were due to inadequate depth of holes. One was due to
erosion. Rarely do people think about the fact this tower is going to be
here for 30 years. Amazing how much dirt can be moved by erosion in that
period of time.

Anyway, I still like I beam. I'll try to find a picture of our last one we
did. And by the way, try to find yourself a driller that can bell the
bottom of the hole. When I was younger I used to just hop down in that 10
foot deep 3 foot hole and bell it out with a small spade. Not to bright.
