I don't know anything about the plant side of things, but I provide
connections to a guy who does private campus coax networks with C9
Networks Headend CMTS boxes. http://c9networks.com/ I think any Best
Buy purchased cable modem would work for the CPE.

We have an opportunity to acquire usage rights to a cable system that
supplies 300 plus mobile homes. We plan to just inject internet (no
TV). There will be no head end equipment provided to us (currently
off site at the cable companies office), therefore just the cable in
the ground and the amplifiers. I know nothing about cable and want
to know if it would be a good idea to take this on. I.e. what we would
need to buy, head end stuff, boxes in the homes etc. Our plan would
be to add a cabinet next to the cable head end and bring bandwidth to
the site via a backhaul link.
Thoughts ideas?
Anyone out there with cable experience willing to take a call to
discuss this?
Thanks
