I think dogs know that when the internet goes down it gets their owner’s
attention right away.  and when there is no internet there’s nothing left
to do but play ball with the dog ;)

Also the jacket coating is usually made with a soy based product that all
kinds of critters like.  Only way to prevent it is to run it through
conduit or somewhere they can’t get to the cable.
