Store all your important files on MySpace! https://www.theverge.com/2019/3/18/18271023/myspace-music-videos-deleted-2003-2015-server-migration
For really important stuff, I guess I’d want cloud + local, or 2 clouds. Most of our important customer info, config files, etc. are not huge, so something like Dropbox works well. It syncs in the background between devices and the cloud when you are online, and you still have the local copy when you aren’t (like on your laptop in the middle of nowhere). I guess we should also be worrying about ransomware, so an offline backup might be necessary for crucial data. But the original thread about a regular end user. Is it really viable to have all your documents in the cloud? During an Internet outage will we all be like the droid army on Naboo, wandering around aimlessly after the control ship is destroyed? Cloud lol We use Google drive for everything. Anything we store locally isn't important. No need to worry about backups or broken computers. Offline access is possible too which will update once you hit the internet again. I would never ever go back to local storage or local servers. It's not sustainable or reliable.
