The best skunk on dog remedy is a blend of hydrogen peroxide (the strongest you can get at the drugsore) and baking soda. Mixed on the dog. Chemically denatures the stink.
I think for poison ivy/oak, a mental treatment may be more effective. Weed is legal in Illinois now, right? Can anyone verify? Unfortunately you would have to buy it ahead of time and have it with you, along with running cool water.
