The second time I had the screen replaced on my S8 I gave in and bought a case. Don’t have a screen protector though. When it would drop, it would hit on a corner or an edge.
The Fixit guy thought I was crazy the second time for having it fixed because it was still fully functional despite having a crack. Perhaps he was right. He said you can’t get any solvent inside it... screw that, took a spray can of brake cleaner, hosed it out, Blew it out with air. So far as good as new.
