We can bond a few and use for secondary uplink... Smacks of 20 years ago and
using a cable modem to start a Wisp.

I had guessed Starlink would start at $85 per month but I'm very glad they
start at $99. This will make sure cable and fiber customers don't jump ship to
something that costs more with the same or lower speed.

Elon has said MANY times he's targeting the hardest to reach homes and it's not
meant for those with good options already like cable, fiber. This service will
be a godsend for those without cable, fiber, or a good wisp in the area.

They have apps that use VR to show an area where the satellite should be
mounted with no trees in the way. If you have heavy tree cover, expect lots of
downtime and unreliable service. Here's a link showing one of the apps used to
help decide on a mounting location.

They don't mention data caps yet but I guarantee after they gather data during
the beta and after production launch, they will implement some sort of fair
usage caps or deprioritization to prevent abuse on their network. Anyone
wanting to use 150 Mbps 24/7 will quickly be controlled to prevent congestion.

Have to keep telling myself why people will prefer fiber over Starlink:
  Trees
  Snow
Visual antenna blight (but that will not work for Wisps)
  Possibly worse latency (I hope).
Weather? (will Storms knock it out)

I am actually excited for the tribal areas in Utah that have school kids
without internet. Not like we did not try to serve them. But tribes are
problematic to work with. Some tribal areas still don't have electricity.
Not like there is not lots of programs to pay for this stuff.

  But tribes ... are ... problematic ...

I don't think Starlink will go in for predatory pricing. They have more
customers than they can handle and I'd say they have a strong upward pricing
  pressure rather than the opposite.

However, things could get interesting if they manage to get their hands on
  large amounts of government subsidies.
