This will make sure cable and fiber customers don't jump ship to something that costs more with the same or lower speed. Elon has said MANY times he's targeting the hardest to reach homes and it's not meant for those with good options already like cable, fiber. This service will be a godsend for those without cable, fiber, or a good wisp in the area. They have apps that use VR to show an area where the satellite should be mounted with no trees in the way. If you have heavy tree cover, expect lots of downtime and unreliable service. They have more customers than they can handle and I'd say they have a strong upward pricing pressure rather than the opposite.
