Revenues do go up during election season, but it's not as if they went up $14B. A lot of that would have displaced other, cheaper advertisements.
Also, 2020 probably has had depressed advertising budgets for many industries that are traditionally heavy purchasers of ad time. ----- Mike Hammett Intelligent Computing Solutions Midwest Internet Exchange The Brothers WISP ----- Original Message ----- From: "Nate Burke" <[email protected]> To: "Animal Farm" <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, November 18, 2020 10:36:29 AM Subject: [AFMUG] OT: Where does the money go? Genuine question, I always here about Millions/Billions of Dollars being spent on Elections. Where does that money go? $14B spent on the last election. Is there a new billionaire somewhere relaxing on his yacht now? I understand most goes to advertising. So that's like what, 6 networks/corporations. But I don't' remember hearing anything about 'Media company posts record profits this quarter' It's like the money just disappears, never to be heard about again, and the poor media companies are barely making ends meet. -- AF mailing list [email protected] http://af.afmug.com/mailman/listinfo/af_af.afmug.com
