Yeah, big ass diodes on heat sinks. My exeltech inverter (one of them) came with the diodes built in. You lose a volt but it is worth it.

I want to add a second battery bank to power this inverter but the inverter does not charge, can I 'charge' the new battery from the existing dc plant while keeping it isolated? Would a diode or a dcdc converter work best?
