I actually found exactly what I needed on a local classified site about a half hour away. $100 Belt driven. Perfect.

Guess what - the engine crankshaft is essentially the rotor shaft too. The generator does not have a set of independent bearings that would allow it to be belt driven. So I would have had to make a plate that emulates the crankcase and install a bearing in it. Possibly cutting off the crankshaft. I didn’t get far enough into it to see how the rotor was actually joined to the crankshaft. So much for a used $100 generator solution. The cheapest belt driven AC generators I have found are about $500. An alternator/inverter combo will not give me the watts I need. -- AF mailing list [email protected] http://af.afmug.com/mailman/listinfo/af_af.afmug.com -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -- AF mailing list [email protected] http://af.afmug.com/mailman/listinfo/af_af.afmug.com
