I have several clients set up this way NVR/DVR on site with motion detection set up with 15 seconds before and after for most cameras...a few where there is 25/7/365 activity they are in record mode. The key folks have app on phone to view and get playback for quick analysis...the remote views are set to low data and frame rates since HD is not required for most inquiries over the phone...serious incidents or events which are pulled from NVR/DVR are on HD high quality feeds and saved to USB for managers to view on their computers. Since no one is viewing the cameras all day long we never hit any threshold or limits... You can also limit stuff on Cradlepoints. PTZ cameras will use more data but not as much as you expect... We have one customer with a hidden NVR with smoke detector type cameras... So many options....hidden cameras or big brother is watching you scenario... Hint: careful setting up motion detection alarms on cameras....critters, blowing leaves or trash, cars, etc can trigger notifications at 3:00 am.. Gets old really quick
