We use internal SD. But their cloud NVR is not terribly expensive to subscribe to. You can connect via ethernet as well.

I think it may have its own IR LED lamps. Or it is just really good at night vision. I have it talking to an android phone hotspot at the tower. Solar powered. So far so good. Only have had it up for about a day. Doing everything I want it to do. Sends motion snips of video to my cell phone.
