Always funny seeing others dealing with Vmware with buyers remorse. I was in your spot. I HATE Vmware on their business and licensing side. It is why I dumped them. They made things so complicated and absurd they screwed themselves out of the continuation of our support and service contract. Nothing but headaches, overpayment and lack of flexibility. They screw the little guys full bore.
I went through this - You need to swap to Vmware "standard" (at minimum) licenses and ante up much more to separate into vcenter and individual licenses and add them as you add servers.
